It’s Not too Late to Decorate Your Holiday Door for Prizes and Bragging Rights!

You have three more days to take a photo of your decorated holiday door – or create a new one and go wild with your designs!

Chatham Literacy’s Holiday Decorated Door Event will accept photos of your door creation through this Friday, December 18th by 5:00pm.  An entry of $20 per door for this fundraiser not only helps Chatham Literacy’s programs, it’s also a great way to get your creative side satisfied after a very challenging year!

Design any dazzling, festive, colorful, kid-friendly, traditional, funny doorway.  If your decorated door is selected, you will win a prize and bragging rights.  You just might have the Best Decorated Residential Door, Best Decorated Business Door or Best Door Spirit (for the most decorated doors in a neighborhood or defined community).  Find out the winners in next week’s holiday issue of the Chatham News + Record.

And who knew there were so many excuses to enter! Consider decorating a door with COVID-19-isolated family and friends and co-workers via Zoom. Consider decorating any door or multiple doors for any of the holidays that fall within November and December, including Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, the first day of winter, New Year’s Eve, Boxing Day, Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast Day or, frankly, any-excuse-day to decorate!

“It’s not too late to enter and potentially claim victory for your handiwork,” said Vicki Newell, Executive Director of Chatham Literacy. “We all felt this fun and festive fundraiser was a great way to not only support our services during this most difficult year, but a great way to end the challenges of this year with something fun and outside of the box,” Newell said.

Chatham Literacy helps adults living and working in Chatham County acquire the literacy and educational skills then need to function successfully in society.

Hurry and register! Photos are due to Chatham Literacy on December 18th. Find entry details, rules and photo information, and then register.
