PITTSBORO, NC – July 29, 2025 – Chatham Literacy is pleased to announce the election of Josh Bisson to its Board of Directors. Bisson, Banking Center Manager for First Horizon Bank in Pittsboro, brings 25 years of extensive banking experience and a strong commitment to community service to the organization.
“We are thrilled to welcome Josh to our board,” said Vicki Newell, Executive Director of Chatham Literacy. “His financial acumen, leadership experience, and dedication to education will be invaluable as we continue our mission to empower adults in Chatham County through literacy.“
A seasoned banking professional, Bisson has served in various roles throughout his 25-year career including Vice President of Lending. He relocated to North Carolina in 2018 and currently resides in Sanford with his wife Erin. Their three children live in NC as well. His commitment to community involvement is evident through his past volunteer positions, including serving multiple terms as Chair of a school board of education in Maine, as well as serving as President of a large youth sports organization.
Bisson attended the University of Southern Maine and holds a certification in Biblical Studies and Theology from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was ordained as a Deacon in 2022. Chatham Literacy looks forward to the contributions Josh will make in advancing its programs and services for the community.
