Light Up for Literacy Telethon Raises $12,800 for Adult Learners

2025 Telethon Recap

On December 18, Chatham Literacy hosted the 1st Annual Light Up for Literacy Benefit Telethon, a joyful, high-energy day celebrating learning, community, and generosity. Streaming live from 79 West in Pittsboro, the telethon brought together supporters from across Chatham County and beyond — both in person and online — to champion adult literacy.

2025 Telethon Recap

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, the event raised $12,800 to support adult learners working to build essential literacy and life skills. With the help of a $5,000 matching gift, donations made during the telethon went even further, expanding access to tutoring and educational opportunities for adults in our community.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated, tuned in, volunteered, shared the event, and helped make the day such a success. Light Up for Literacy was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together around opportunity, education, and hope.
