Spring for Literacy Preview 2015

Nationally acclaimed author Jill McCorkle will share insights about her latest book, Life After Life, and what inspires her writing at Chatham Literacy’s 5th annual Spring for Literacy luncheon.

All proceeds from the luncheon directly fund Chatham County Literacy Council’s free literacy programming and services for adults who live and work in Chatham County.

About the author

Jill McCorkle has published 10 novels and short story collections. She is a winner of the New England Booksellers Award, the John Dos Passos Prize for Excellence in Literature, and the North Carolina Award for Literature. She is a member of the Fellowship of Southern Writers.

She currently teaches graduate courses in creative writing at North Carolina State University and is a core faculty member of the Bennington College Writing Seminars. She also has taught at UNC-Chapel Hill, Tufts, Brandeis, and Harvard universities. She lives in Hillsborough with her husband, photographer and filmmaker Tom Rankin.
