We invite you to join with us by becoming a sponsor of Chatham County Literacy Council’s 6th Annual Spring for Literacy fundraiser, which will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Governors Club. Sponsors will be prominently acknowledged in the event program, in news releases about the event, on the Chatham Literacy website, Facebook, and in our annual report.
This special event will feature Daniel Wallace, local author of five novels: Big Fish, Ray in Reverse, The Watermelon King, Mr. Sebastian the Negro Magician, and The King and Queens of Roam. Wallace is the J. Ross MacDonald Distinguished Professor of English at the University of North Carolina, where he directs the Creative Writing Program.
Chatham Literacy helps adults, living or working in Chatham County, acquire the literacy and educational skills they need to function successfully in society. Because Chatham Literacy’s operations are entirely dependent on grants and donations, we cannot accomplish our mission without events such as this one and partners like you.
All proceeds from the luncheon, attended by approximately 200 community leaders and volunteers, directly fund Chatham Literacy’s free one-on-one and small-group instruction. With your support, an increasing number of adults will be able to read to their children, talk with their healthcare providers, obtain employment, improve their job performance, and/or become U.S. citizens.
To become a sponsor, return this form and your check – payable to: Chatham Literacy – P.O. Box 1696, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
