Please join us at Chatham Literacy in welcoming our two newest Program Coordinators. We are so excited to have them both on board!

MEET TAMARA PATTERSON, OUR PROGRAM COORDINATOR FOR ADULT GOAL-BASED EDUCATION:

BACKGROUND: She holds a Masters of Science degree in Human Resources/Community Agency Counseling from NCAT State University. She is a lifelong resident of Chatham County and has served in many roles throughout the county such as NC Works Career Center, Career Advisor, several WIOA programs and local non-profit organizations, including, CCDSS, FVRC and CCHA. Her last role as Workforce Development Program Monitor served all counties across NC.

MEET ROSE CHAVEZ, OUR PROGRAM COORDINATOR FOR ESOL (ENGLISH FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES)

BACKGROUND: Rose moved to Siler City from Phoenix, Arizona at age 16. She graduated from Jordan-Matthews High School in 2015 and after a gap year, began at the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. In 2021, she earned her B.A. in Political Science, deeming her a first-generation college graduate. Rose has worked with Chatham County Schools as a Volleyball Coach, Student Success Mentor, Student Government Advisor, AVID English Language Arts and Dual-Language Social Studies teacher.
