Challenge Met

Although challenging, there is a silver lining to COVID-19. As Chatham Literacy transitions in the future to a “new reality”, remote instruction and digital learning apps will continue to be available to learners and tutors as a service delivery option.

These two new ways of tutoring could allow us to 1) serve adult learners in outlying areas of Chatham County where there are travel issues for learners and tutors and 2) enroll learners upon intake in a digital learning app instead of placing them on a waiting list.

I am VERY proud to report that 80% (145 of 180) of our learners and 35% (31 of 89) of our tutors have made the switch to distance learning at a time when in-person tutoring is not an option, until it can again be done safely.

Together we continue to provide essential literacy services….helping individuals achieve their goals; whether educational, career-related or personal.
