Thanks to ALL of you for helping to make the Fall for Literacy Luncheon on October 12, 2019 such a success! More than $16,000 was raised for tutoring services for adults in Chatham County. Services that will help individuals become U.S. citizens, obtain jobs, secure job promotions, learn English, earn a GED, become engaged in their children’s education and become independent and confident.
98 community members were moved by Jaki Shelton Green’s phenomenal storytelling. I do not think anyone wanted Jaki to stop. She took attendees on an incredible journey, she inspired us, and she charged us to create our own stories.
