Each year Chatham Literacy conducts four fundraising events:
- Literacy Swings in Siler City (March)
- Spring for Literacy Luncheon in North Chatham (April 20)
- Fall for Literacy Luncheon in Siler City (September)
- Literacy Swings in Pittsboro (October)
All proceeds from these events directly fund Chatham Literacy’s free one-on-one and small-group instruction. With your support, an increasing number of adults will be able to read to their children, talk with their healthcare providers, obtain employment, improve their job performance, and/or become U.S. citizens.
Literacy Swings fundraisers feature big band jazz orchestras for your dancing and listening pleasure. These events typically attract over 100 patrons. For a $20 donation, the public is invited to join in the fun and dance the night away to the fabulous sounds of a 20-piece orchestra. Food and drink are extra.
Literacy Luncheon fundraisers feature leading published authors who speak following a catered sit-down luncheon served at a local upscale venue. Typically 200 community leaders, donors, and volunteers attend these events. For a $100 donation, the public is invited to join in a delicious lunch and author presentation.
There are opportunities to sponsor these events. Please visit our Sponsorships page for more information.
