Chatham Literacy has a new National Literacy Month campaign theme this year – Literacy: Never too early! Never too late!  You can help us spread the word simply by wearing one of our new T-shirts in your community or, if you have a business, by partnering with us.

This is the third year for our T-shirt FUNdraiser, and we’re excited that the 2016 design will be selected on August 5 from entries in a Chatham Literacy design contest. The deadline for entries is July 31.

The T-shirts not only benefit Chatham Literacy, they benefit you as well! Wear your 2016 T-shirt to participating Chatham County businesses on the first Tuesday of each month – for a full year – and you’ll get a discount that day. Participating businesses also will offer discounts to customers wearing literacy T-shirts on September 8, International Literacy Day.

We hope you’ll promote literacy on September 8 by snapping selfies and group photos of you and your friends or co-workers wearing your T-shirts, then posting them on your social media pages and on Chatham Literacy’s Facebook page. You also can email them to admin@chathamliteracy.org and we’ll post them on our website.

We’re proud to say that the scope of the National Literacy Month campaign we initiated in 2014 has grown this year, with Orange Literacy and Durham Literacy co-sponsoring the T-shirt contest and selling shirts with their logos in their counties.

You can order and pay for your T-shirt(s) in one of three convenient ways:

 See you in September!
