Thanks Central Electric!

Central Electric Membership Corp.’s Operation Round Up has donated $3,000 to support Chatham Literacy’s free adult tutoring programs.

Operation Round Up Grant Presentation (2)Operation Round Up is a volunteer program in which Central Electric members can choose to help people in need by rounding up their electric bills to the next whole dollar each month. The money is distributed to organizations that address vital needs in Chatham, Harnett, Moore, Lee and Randolph counties, where the member-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperative operates.

“Chatham Literacy is honored to be a 2015 Operation Round Up recipient. Because of this funding, more adults in Chatham County will be able to gain the proficiency in reading and writing that they need to build a better future for themselves and their families,” said Vicki Newell, Chatham Literacy’s executive director. “We thank Central Electric and its members for partnering with us.”
